People often ask the question, “What will heaven be like.” Although the Bible discusses heaven, it is not possible to understand the full nature of heaven from a human perspective. Since heaven is where God lives, it must contain more physical and temporal dimensions than those found in this physical universe that God created. We cannot imagine, nor can we experience in our current bodies, what these extra dimensions might be like. Even so, we are given enough information in the Bible to understand many of the things that will be different in heaven compared to our lives today. Some of the information is based upon what the Bible says about heaven.

Mother’s Day is an annual holiday celebrated on the second Sunday in May. Mother’s Day recognizes mothers, motherhood and maternal bonds in general. Commercialization of the U.S. holiday began very early, and only nine years after the first official Mother’s Day had became so rampant that Mother’s Day founder Anna Jarvis herself became a major opponent of what the holiday had become pending all her inheritance and the rest of her life fighting what she saw as an abuse of the celebration. She decried the practice of purchasing greeting cards, which she saw as a sign of being too lazy to write a personal letter. She was arrested in 1948 for disturbing the peace while protesting against the commercialization of Mother’s Day, and she finally said that she “…wished she would have never started the day because it became so out of control.

This group is quick to see needs and tries to help in some way possible.  This weekend, some of us have donated things for a garage sale, for Samaritan’s Purse, and the proceeds will be matched.

I made a double blueberry pie, and also a strawberry lemon pie.  Can’t wait to serve them and try them.  Now, I need to think about what dishes to serve them on (I didn’t buy paper products) and what beverages to serve.

Since I have been trying to lose weight, I took a salad that I could have and share with them.  Mom was making tuna sandwiches, so the salad went with that.  I couldn’t have the tuna sandwiches though.  The salad is called Energy salad and has several kinds of lettuce, spinach, grated cabbage, then one adds carrots, radishes, zuchinni, cucumber, tomatoes, yellow summer squash, celery, it is a very refreshing and energizing salad. So I was cooking for and enjoying family.

Two girls did what was needed to be awarded the Timothy award.  That was the highest award given out. They completed all four books.

After Mom came to pick her up, her two brothers came and stayed for a few hours.  One had homework.  They both played games on the computer, which they switched places every 30 minutes.  It worked pretty well, but it was hard on the one who needed to finish to actually do so and let the other one have his turn.

For supper, I made them Mac and Cheese, and they could choose some vegetables from my plate to eat along with it.  One chose a bite of potato, and the other one chose broccoli without the floret. They aren’t much of vegetable eaters. What a time of enjoying family!

She was registered at Target and Crate and Barrel.  She received many nice gifts.  It was so fun to watch her open them and hear her remarks about each one.

We also played some games.  One was she needed to answer some trivia questions about the groom.  If she got it wrong she had to put a stick of gum in her mouth.  She found out she didn’t know him as well as she thought.  Another fun game was dividing our group into Team I and Team II.  Then, each team was given two rolls of toilet paper.  We had to choose someone to be the ‘bride’, and use the toilet paper to dress her in a wedding gown.
